Bahrain to face Algeria in handball friendlies

Bahrain’s senior men’s national handball team have set up a pair of international friendly games against their counterparts from Algeria later this month.

This was announced yesterday by the Bahrain Handball Association (BHA).

The tune-ups will take place on April 27 and 29 at the BHA Arena in Um Al Hassam, and they are a part of the Bahrainis’ latest local training gathering, which has already gotten underway.

Bahrain head coach Aron Kristjansson has named a 31-player squad for their practices.

The team includes four of the Kingdom’s overseas-based professionals, including longtime skipper Hussain Al Sayyad, Ali Abdulqader, Ali Eid and Komail Mahfoodh.

From recently crowned league champions Al Najma are Hassam Mirza, Al Sayed Ali Basse, Mohammed Ali, Qassim Qambar, Adel Afrooz, Mohammed Habib Nasser, Mohammed Mirza, Ahmed Al Maqabi and top goalkeeper Mohammed Abdulhussain.

The rest of the roster includes Jassim Al Salatna, Abdulla Ali, Hussain Jaafar and Ali Mirza from Al Ahli; Mohammed Hameed and Ali Mahmood from Al Ettifaq, Hassan Al Samaheeji, Hesham Isa, Ali Al Asheeri, Hassan Madan, Hussain Abdulla and Ahmed Abbas from Al Dair; Ahmed Jalal, Ahmed Redha, Mujtaba Al Zaimour, Salah Abduljaleel and Jassim Khamis from Al Shabab; and Muntadher Ebrahim from Tadhamun.

The Bahrainis are preparing for their upcoming tournaments.
