Bahraini-British motor racing team 2 Seas Motorsport had both cars finish in the points in the Silverstone 500, held yesterday at Silverstone Circuit in the UK as the third round of the 2023 Intelligent Money British GT Championship.
The tandem of Ian Loggie and Jules Gounon in 2 Seas’ #1 Mercedes-AMG GT3 challenger finished eighth overall and seventh in the Pro-Am class, while teammates James Cottingham and Jonny Adam in the #4 car were 11th overall and ninth in class following a late penalty.
Both cars started the event from the second row, but a tough finish for the 2 Seas pair did not reflect their strong pace.
Cottingham and Adam were in the mix for a podium until the final stages, but bad luck and little mistakes cost them positions.
Loggie and Gounon finished 19.237 seconds behind the winners from Century Motorsport, while Cottingham and Adam were 54.023s behind.
More than 40 cars competed in the race in the GT3 and GT4 categories. Yesterday’s race was the third of nine in the 2023 British GT season.
Following this weekend’s action, the next meetings will take place at Donington Park on May 27 and 28, Snetterton on June 17 and 18, Autodromo do Algarve in Portugal on July 22 and 23, Brands Hatch on September 9 and 10, and then Donington Park again for the season-finale on October 21 and 22.
