Bahrain to host group qualifiers for U-23 Asian Cup

Bahrain is set to host its group matches in the qualifiers for the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup, the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) announced yesterday.
BFA secretary general Rashid Al Zoubi said that the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has granted the Kingdom the assignment of staging the qualification contests.
The games are scheduled to be held from September 4 to 12 later this year.
The participating nations have yet to be determined as the group draw has yet to be conducted by the AFC. Bahrain’s under-23 Olympic football team has already begun gearing up for the qualifiers.
Al Zoubi indicated that the BFA, under the directives of BFA president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, is always keen to host various tournaments and events, especially with the great success of Bahrain as hosts on previous occasions.
Al Zoubi added that Bahrain’s selection reflects the AFC’s great confidence in the capabilities of the Kingdom and the BFA, and stressed that all matters related.
