Mahmoud wins gold in Arab Under-23 Championship

Bahraini elite athlete Abdelrahman Mahmoud captured the men’s shot put gold medal in the first Arab Athletics Under-23 Championship, which came to a close yesterday in Tunisia.
Mahmoud was dominant in his competition.
The 22-year-old clinched first place with a best throw of 19.90 metres.
His top throw was well ahead of runner-up Ali Mustafa Mubarak of Saudi Arabia, who claimed the silver medal in 15.75m.
Faisal Mustafa of the UAE took the bronze in 10.59m.
Mahmoud, the Asian indoor record and Bahraini outdoor record holder in his event, with a personal best of 21.10m indoor and 21.15m outdoor.
Mahmoud was the only athlete from the Kingdom to take part in the event, which was organised and run by the Arab Athletics Association.
