Heated rivals Manama and Muharraq meet once again on the hardwood tonight in game one of the 2022/2023 Zain Bahrain Basketball League. Just days after Manama defeated their opponents in a tight final match for the title in the Khalifa bin Salman Cup basketball tournament, the two teams are set to lock horns once again in a best-of-five championship series.

They will both be trying to draw first blood this evening in their bout for the league crown. The tie is scheduled for a 7pm tip-off at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town. The series is a repeat of last season’s league finals, and Manama are looking for a repeat championship.

Muharraq, on the other hand, are hoping to avenge their loss. Game two will be held on Monday, while the rest of the games are still to be determined. Manama hold the record for most league titles in Bahrain, having claimed the coveted championship 23 times in the past, including last season. Muharraq have won the title thrice in the past, in the 2007/2008 season, as well as in 2011/2012 and 2018/2019.
