Bahraini cyclist Ahmed Madan finished in the top 10 in the Elite Men’s Individual Time Trial at the 2023 Asian Road Cycling Championships, currently being held in Rayong, Thailand. Madan was classified ninth overall amongst 19 participants in the event, which covered a distance of 46 kilometres.

Madan completed the distance in a total time of 58 minutes 34.429 seconds while posting an average speed of 47.12kph.

Madan was classified more than five minutes behind gold-medallist Yevgeniy Fedorov of Kazakhstan, who finished in 53:28.423. Chih Hao Tu of Taipei won silver in 55:25.722, while Jambaljamts Sainbayar of Mongolia clinched bronze in 56:35.771.

Bahrain Cycling Association sport director Axel Costa commented: “Madan did a good ITT, with good technique and his performance numbers were even better than last year when he won the Asia Championship U23 ITT title.

“Today there were eight riders faster and this is cycling. We are happy with his progression line and this work will bring many successes in the future.”
