A star has been truly born during BRAVE CF 72. The event, which took place last Friday in the Kingdom of Bahrain, was the coming out party of Africa’s next big star.
Eliezer ‘’King Kong’’ Kubanza announced himself spectacularly on the big stage by brutally knocking out Rayan Atmani in the first round of their Super Welterweight contest.
And the signs of his stardom are all there: after the event, he was widely celebrated in his native DR Congo, with people stepping up to organize watch parties around the country and celebrate his victory.
In a video that went viral, several Kubanza fans are seen shouting his name and commemorating his big win.
It was the first time a Congolese fighter stepped in the world-famous BRAVE CF arena, with DR Congo becoming the 82nd nation to be represented in the most global MMA organization.
Eliezer made his BRAVE CF debut, following a successful amateur career – which even saw him earning a victory over Ramazan Gitinov, the greatest amateur fighter of all time.
And now feels ready for even greater heights as he impressed in his first fight. His KO was one of the most outstanding stoppages of the evening, as he threw a high kick which was defended by his opponent.
However, the amount of power he generated meant the defense wasn’t enough to keep Rayan Atmani from being separated from his senses.
Now, as his name continues to grow, Kubanza is eyeing a return to France, as well as a fight with Axel Sola, a fellow IMMAF standout, who was once the number one pound for pound amateur in France.
