Bauhaus puts in strong challenge

Team Bahrain Victorious rider Phil Bauhaus was back in the top 10 yesterday in stage seven of the 2023 Tour de France. The German ranked seventh at the end of the 169.9-kilometre leg, finishing amongst the leading group in a sprint to the line.

Jasper Philipsen was triumphant for Alpecin-Deceuninck. Bauhaus’s Bahrain Victorious teammate Mikel Landa was not far behind the top finishers as he came 42nd overall, while Pello Bilbao was 65th.

Nikias Arndt was classified 69th, while rounding out the Bahrain Victorious riders were Fred Wright in 96th, Matej Mohoric in 100th, Woet Poels in 120th and Jack Haig in 122nd. In the general classification after a total of 1,242.1km completed, Landa was the top Bahrain Victorious competitor in 11th, followed by Bilbao in 14th and Haig in 37th.

Bahrain Victorious went to third on the team ranking after going as high as second. Jumbo-Visma stayed as leaders while Ineos Grenadiers moved to second place. The Tour de France continues today with the 201km eighth stage from Libourne to Limoges. This year’s race features a total of 3,404km and over 55,000 vertical meters of climbing across 21 stages.
