KHK MMA in England

The Team of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for Mixed Martial Arts (KHK MMA) are set to represent Bahrain in the First European Open International MMA Open Championship for amateurs, which opens today in Birmingham, England. 

This championship runs until Sunday and features 174 fighters from 22 countries in various weight categories.

Bahrain’s five fighters are led by the Bahraini coach Ridha Monfaridi and Russian coach Alder Androv and comprises Ahmed Al Kaabi (84kg), Ali Ebrahimi (70kg), Isa Al Omairi (66kg), Abdullah Seena (61kg) and Hussain Ayad (57kg).

Coach and former MMA fighter Alder Androv, has praised the efforts of Shaikh Khalid for his support of the sport locally and at 

the international level by cooperation and coordination with the International Federation (IMMAF) and the organisers of MMA world championships. 

The team had been through medical checks after an intensive training programme on weight control, psychological and mental readiness, physical fitness, endurance and technical instruction. 

Countries participating are Bahrain, Lebanon, Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Turkey and hosts Great Britain.
