Mohoric keeps yellow, white jerseys in Tour de Pologne

Team Bahrain Victorious ace Matej Mohoric marginally extended his lead on the general classification yesterday with two stages to go in the Tour de Pologne 2023, being held in Poland.
Mohoric claimed an impressive runner-up finish in the 197.8-kilometre fifth leg for his third podium of the event—adding to his victory in stage two and second-place finish in stage three.
Mohoric came narrowly behind winner Marijn Van den Berg yesterday, while Joao Almeida, who is his chief challenger on the overall rankings, finished third. Amongst Bahrain Victorious’ other contenders yesterday, Damiano Caruso finished 38th, Antonio Tiberi was 40th, Andrea Pasqualon and Fran Miholjevic were 80th and 81st, respectively, Matevz Govekar came 89th, and Kamil Gradek finished 116th.
Mohoric maintained the yellow jersey after stretching his lead on the general rankings to 12 seconds ahead of Almeida. He also is in first place on the sprint rankings with 58 points to keep hold of the white jersey.
Action in the Tour of Pologne continues today with a 16.6km individual time trial. Then, the seventh and final stage will be held tomorrow over 166.6 km, starting from the city of Zabrze and finishing in Krakow. The race is a part of the 2023 UCI World Tour.
