Team Bahrain Victorious rider Matej Mohoric put in an impressive performance yesterday on the penultimate stage of the Tour of Pologne 2023 to keep the yellow jersey heading into today’s grand finale.

Mohoric placed 11th overall in the 16.6-kilo - metre individual time trial—25 seconds behind winner Mattia Cattaneo of Soudal-Quick Step team. That was enough to keep his place as the overall leader on the race’s general classification with only the final stage to go today, to be held over 166.6km.

Mohoric holds a narrow lead over Joao Almeida of UAE Team Emirates on the event’s rankings and is also tied with his chief rival on points. These will be decided in today’s concluding hilly stage, which begins in the Polish city of Zabrze and ends in Krakow.

Amongst Bahrain Victorious’ other riders yesterday, Damiano Caruso finished 16th, Kamil Gradek was 30th, Fran Miholjevic was 62nd, Antonio Tiberi came 73rd, Andrea Pasqualon was 86th and Matevz Govekar came 90th. Caruso was also in the top 10 on the general ranking for best climber in sixth place. The Tour of Pologne 2023 is part of this year’s UCI World Tour.
