Bahrain’s under-23 Olympic football team claimed another victory yesterday in a friendly match played as part of their overseas training camp in Bangkok.

The nationals defeated North Bangkok University FC 1-0 in the tune-up. Saleh Al Zubaidi was on target with the game’s one goal.

It was the Bahrainis’ second win in as many days, having just beaten EGY Thai Football Club 4-0 in their previous encounter.

They have now played five friendly games so far during their camp, four against local clubs and another against their counterparts from Kuwait. Bahrain next play three exhibition games, first against the Thai Olympic team tomorrow, then against Timor-Leste the following evening, and finally against Vietnam on Tuesday next week.

The nationals, coached by Dario Basic of Croatia, are currently in their camp preparing for their upcoming qualifiers for the 2024 AFC U23 Asian Cup, scheduled to take place next month.

This training period is scheduled to continue until 16 August. Bahrain’s group matches in the qualifiers are set to be held in the Kingdom. The nationals are in Group D with Japan, Palestine and Pakistan.
