Pierre bags GP2 qualifier

French driver Pierre Gasly for Team DAMS came in first place in the Qualifying of the GP2 Series after completing 11 laps with a best time of 1 minute 39.572 seconds with a top speed of 195.7 kph in yesterday’s support race of the 2015 FIA WEC Bapco 6 Hours of Bahrain at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.

In second place was Belgian driver Stoffel Vandoorne of ART Grand Prix (1:39.612) with Raffaele Marciello from Italy driving for Trident (1:39.648) in third.

Fourth place went to Briton Alex Lynn of DAMS (1:39.661), fifth to another Briton Jordan King of Racing Engineering (1:39.902) with Frenchman Norman Neto of Arden International (1:40.004) in sixth.

Rounding out the top ten were Mitch Evans (New Zealand, Russian Time (1:40.027), Nobahuru Matsushita (Japan, ART Grand Prix, 1:40.079), Alexander Rossi (US, Racing Engineering, 1:40.141) and Arthur Pic (France, Campos Racing, 1:40.176) in seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions respectively.

A total of 24 drivers were in the fray representing 12 teams.
