Children of HH Shaikh Nasser and HH Shaikh Khalid shine in European endurance horseracing debut

In a sensational display of equestrian prowess, Their Highnesses, the children of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, achieved a remarkable feat at the prestigious Monpazier Championship, held in France.
Taking place in the presence of HH Shaikh Nasser, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, and HH Shaikh Khalid, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the event spanned a distance of 20km.
It marked the debut of Their Highnesses, the children of HH Shaikh Nasser and HH Shaikh Khalid, in a European endurance race. Addressing the momentous occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser underscored the profound significance of Their Highnesses’ inaugural European race, highlighting its pivotal role in the fulfilment of their aspirations.
With resolute conviction, he reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to wholeheartedly supporting and accompanying them on their journey, maintaining the Kingdom’s unwavering trajectory of triumph in the realm of endurance riding.
HH Shaikh Nasser further remarked: “Those who have closely followed the Bahraini endurance journey are fully cognizant of its extraordinary strides and accomplishments. We consistently rely on the unwavering determination of our valiant riders across all domains.
“The participation of our children in their inaugural European event exemplifies their profound dedication and unwavering ardour for equestrian sports.” Expanding on his statement, HH Shaikh Nasser added: “We set our goals years ago, and today we reap the fruits of our efforts.
We started by instilling a culture of love for horses in our children and ensuring their gradual training and development, leading up to their participation in local races held in Bahrain. “With their remarkable progress and tremendous effort, they have earned a strong presence in their first European race. I will continue to support and closely follow their journey in the coming period.”
HH Shaikh Khalid expressed his gratitude and appreciation to HH Shaikh Nasser for his efforts in encouraging and showcasing the capabilities of the younger generation. He noted that this support played a significant role in paving the way for the success of Their Highnesses in their participation in their first European competition.
At the end of the race, Their Highnesses, the children of HH Shaikh Nasser and HH Shaikh Khalid, were presented with trophies. Under the leadership of HH Shaikh Nasser, the Royal Endurance Team will compete today in the 160km race at the Monpazier Championship. Seventy-nine riders from various countries will feature in the highly anticipated competition.
