HH Shaikh Nasser defends title at France's Monpazier Endurance Championship

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, has once again etched his name in golden letters by achieving remarkable success, being crowned champion of the Monpazier Endurance Championship’s 160-kilometre race, held yesterday in France.

The event featured wide participation, and HH Shaikh Nasser demonstrated his exceptional leadership skills to win the prestigious race.

In his first participation after his recent triumph at the World Championship in the sisterly UAE, HH Shaikh Nasser steered the same horse, Darco La Majorie, to victory, maintaining his reign over the endurance races.

HH Shaikh Nasser completed the distance in a time of eight hours, 32 minutes, and 50 seconds in securing first place.

Royal Endurance Team rider Mohammed Al Hashimi took second place, finishing the race in a time of 8:33:15, while French rider Nicolas Ballarin claimed the third place with a time of 8:54:49.

On this occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser emphasised that this new achievement adds to the distinguished series of accomplishments in Bahrain’s endurance sport.

“It is a testament to the utmost care and support provided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as the continued support from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister,” said HH Shaikh Nasser.

Moreover, HH Shaikh Nasser highlighted the importance of the support extended by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, throughout the race stages.

He further pointed out that this excellent result serves as a significant incentive for the Royal Endurance Team as they prepare for future competitions.

From his side, HH Shaikh Khalid congratulated HH Shaikh Nasser on the well-earned victory, stressing that this remarkable achievement is a testament to the tremendous efforts exerted by His Highness in the field of endurance sports.
