Next month, BRAVE Combat Federation will make its way over to Nantes, France for a blockbuster card. As part of the festivities, Vladislav Rudnev will be in action as he puts his unbeaten 6-0 record on the line against Frenchman Axel Sola.
The bout will be contested at lightweight, and as the old saying goes, someone’s ‘0’ has got to go.
Still, while the fight itself is bound to be a barnburner, it feels like many fans still don’t know too much about Rudnev as he prepares to make his debut for the promotion.
In his home country, Vladislav is widely considered to be Ukraine’s greatest-ever combat sambo fighter.
He is a four-time world champion in that practice, and he has even won titles in different weight classes as a three-time 74kg champ and a one-time victor at 79kg.
He has spent the majority of his mixed martial arts career competing at welterweight, but on September 7, he will be raising quite a few eyebrows by making the switch down to 155 pounds.
It is a risk, but it is one that the 27-year-old appears to be pretty confident in taking.
It is not like activity is a problem, either. This is the third time we will be seeing Rudnev compete in 2023 already following wins over Ion Petrov and Mikołaj Krukowski back in April and May, respectively.
This, of course, is the step up in competition he has been searching for, and given how well-rounded he seems to be with three decisions, two submissions and one knockout, we would argue this is one of the most unpredictable fights to call at BRAVE CF 74.
Axel Sola is not going to show up and be a warm body but in equal measure, it will take something special to stop the Vladisav Rudnev train from gathering even more momentum.
