BRAVE Combat Federation is renowned for providing a platform for athletes who embody the name of the most global MMA brand. It’s one thing to be talented or hard-working, but being willing to show courage and step into the fray when the chips are down takes bravery.
France’s Anthony ‘’La Masse’’ Dizy is one such athlete. ‘’La Masse’’ understands what it means to be BRAVE and to step up when called upon and deliver a performance worthy of global recognition.
He proved this at BRAVE CF 74 when he stepped in on four days’ notice to face Ukraine’s Vladyslav Rudniev after fellow Frenchman Axel Sola withdrew from the Lightweight co-main event in Nantes, France. ‘
‘La Masse’’ did not only fill the vacant slot, but he did so with aplomb and gave the four-time Combat Sambo World Champion the fight of his life before Rudniev eventually walked away with a tightly contested unanimous decision (29-28, 29- 28, 29-28) win, in the only bout to go the distance on the night.
While Dizy may not have secured the win, his performance impressed millions of BRAVE Nation fans, including BRAVE CF President Mohammed Shahid, who has rewarded the man by offering him a multi-fight contract. “Anthony was hanging out and ready to watch the fights, and then he got called up to fight on short notice.
I give him a lot of credit for how dangerous he was and how hard he pushed Vladylslav,” says President Shahid.
From the first bell, Dizzy seemed to have the upper hand, with an answer for every grappling and wrestling exchange from Rudniev.
The Frenchman showed electric movement with quick transitions and impressive takedown defense for the duration of the first and second.
Late in the second round, Dizy left Rudniev and the H Arena crowd stunned when he showcased his flexibility and great Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as he worked his way out of a deep armbar.
Had it not been for his short fight camp, the Frenchman could have offered a more resistant 15 minutes, but his lack of preparation was revealed from the end of the second round onward, which Rudniev capitalized on as Dizy seemed to tire and slow down.
Nonetheless, mixed martial arts experts understood the card he was dealt and could not fault the man, as he almost delivered the perfect fight. “This man grappled a fourtime Combat Sambo World Champion,” said President Shahid out of admiration.
“Despite coming in on such short notice, he gave it his all and produced a spectacular show. He is BRAVE CF caliber, and I can’t wait to watch him with a full camp,” added President Shahid - a former professional fighter himself.
