Abdulhussain, Abdulhameed to be flag-bearers in Asiad opening

Bahrain hand ball star and long-time national team goalkeeper Mohammed Abdulhussain and history-making rower Maryam Abdulhameed will today be the Kingdom’s flag-bearers as the national delegation takes part in the official opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
Abdulhussain and Maryam will be leading the national sporting heroes, who are one of the 45 delegations participating in the official inauguration, in the parade of nations.
Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the event, scheduled for a 3pm start, Bahrain time, at Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Stadium, when the torch will be lit for the 19th Asiad.
Bahrain is competing in 17 sports at this year’s Asiad.
They include athletics, handball, volleyball, football, basketball, boxing, judo, weightlifting, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, rowing, shooting, cycling, table tennis, taekwondo, sailing, and e-sports.
