Khaldiya, Muharraq play to a stalemate

Defending champions Al Khaldiya and top contenders Muharraq played to a 1-1 stalemate last night in their week two match of the 2023/2024 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.
Samy Frioui and Firas Shawat were on target for their respective sides.
After a goalless first half, Muharraq opened the scoring in the 47th minute with a left-footed effort from Shawat.
Khaldiya then equalised in the 74th minute through Frioui, who headed home in front of goal off a short cross from teammate Ismaeel Abdullatif.
In other matches yesterday, which wrapped up the second week of league action, Al Ahli defeated Sitra 3-1, while East Riffa beat Busaiteen 3-1.
