Bahrain1 Racing driver Jordan Lazic claimed a sensational victory in the Pro Mod category at the NHRA Midwest Nationals, held over the weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway in Illinois, the US.
Lazic claimed his first Wally trophy in his debut appearance in a National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Pro Mod event.
Driving Bahrain 1’s ’ 69 ProCharger Camaro, Lazic secured his win after defeating Jason Scruggs in the final round.
Lazic did not need to set a time as Scruggs was a no-show, automatically handing the Bahrain1 driver first place.
In the previous stage, Lazic won against Mike Castellana while Scruggs eliminated Bahrain1’s Khaled Al Balooshi.
In the earlier two elimination rounds, Lazic won against Mike Thielen in the opening phase and then took out Stan Shelton in the second.
Only one round remains in the NHRA season for Pro Mod competitors.
It will be held at the NHRA Nevada Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway from 26 to 29 October.
Bahrain1 drivers Kristopher Thorne and Justin Bond are currently among the chief contenders for the season’s title.
