Bahrain set for Philippines friendly

Bahrain take on the Philippines tonight in an international friendly match at Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium at Muharraq Club in Arad.

The game is scheduled for a 7pm kick-off and entrance is free for spectators. It is the second tune-up contest for the Kingdom’s senior men’s national team in a week.

They had previously claimed a 2-0 victory Thursday night against Kyrgyzstan.

The friendlies are part of the Bahrainis’ preparations for next month’s start to their continental qualification campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

They will also be competing in the next edition of the AFC Asian Cup in Doha in January of next year.

Bahrain Football Association president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa visited the national team’s training session on Sunday night and met with the coaching staff and players.

He was received by head coach Juan Antonio Pizzi, amongst other officials. Bahrain have a 34-player squad for this international period including Mohammed Abdulwahab, Abdulla Al Hashash, Sayed Mohammed Jaafar, Mohammed Adel, Waleed Al Hayyam, Amine Hasan, Abdulla Al Khalasi, Mohammed Al Hardan, Komail Al Aswad, Ali Madan, Mahdi Humaidan, Abdulla Yusuf, Mohammed Marhoon, Moses Atede, Ahmed Bughammar, Sayed Mahdi Baqer, Sayed Dhiya Saeed, Hussain Al Ekri, Hazza Ali, Mohammed Abdulqayoom, Jassim Al Shaikh, Ali Hassan Saeed, Abdulaziz Khaled, Salem Omar, Hamza Al Juban, Mubarak Mohammed, Ahmed Al Sherooqi, Ebrahim Al Khattal, Ebrahim Luthfallah, Hussain Abdulkareem, Hamad Al Doseri, Salem Hussain, Ebrahim Al Wali and Jassim Khelaif.

The visiting Philippines team comprises Neil Etheridge, Julian Schwarzer, Kevin Ray Mendoza, Jesse Curran, Daisuke Sato, Audie Menzi, Santiago Rublico, Jefferson Tabina, Simone Rota, Enrique Linares, Joshua Grommen, Dennis Villanueva, Kevin Ingreso, Justin Baas, Jhanjhan Melliza, Manuel Ott, Mike Ott, Sandro Reyes, Marwin Angeles, Jose Elmer Porteria, Patrick Reichelt, Bienvenido Maranon, Pocholo Bugas, Jarvey Gayoso and Kenshiro Daniels. The Filipinos also played a friendly game against Kyrgyzstan on Sunday morning
