His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President, yesterday submitted the kingdom’s official letter of intent to host the Arab Games 2031.
The letter was submitted in the presence of Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of GSA, and Fares Mustafa Al Kooheji, BOC Secretary-General. The kingdom’s bid to host the Arab Games 2031 embodies the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to attract mega sporting events, consolidate the kingdom’s status and spur sports tourism.
It also reflects Bahrain’s keenness to enhance joint Arab action in the sports field, by hosting Arab gatherings and events aimed at fostering rapprochement among Arab youth. The bid is within the framework of the efforts of BOC, led by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad, to boost the Arab Olympic movement and contribute to developing Arab sport.
