Hidd defeated Al Hala 2-0 last night in their week four match of the 2023/2024 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League. Talal Al Sherooqi and Jacques Medina Iemopele were on target on either side of half-time in Hidd’s win, which was their first after three straight losses to start the new season.
Al Sherooqi opened Hidd’s account in the 25th minute from the penalty spot, and it was enough to keep their team in the lead at the break. After the re-start, Iemopele doubled their advantage in the 57th minute with a sensational rocket from beyond 30 yards.
Iemopele’s long-range strike flew into the top-left corner of the net, leaving no chance for opposing Hala goalkeeper Godwill Chia Ndang. With the result, Hidd claimed their first points of the season, while Hala were handed their second loss to go with two wins. They have six points in the top half of the table. Also last night, Manama and Sitra played to a goalless stalemate.
It was the first draw for Manama in the new campaign as they improved to four points on the standings, while Sitra had their second draw to go to two points. League action continues tonight with another two games on schedule. Al Ahli play Muharraq while defending champions Al Khaldiya take on Busaiteen. Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 7pm.
