Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, the competitions of the third edition of His Highness’ Amateur Cycling Tour, organised by the Bahrain Cycling Association in collaboration with Faalyat, continued with the second stage held in the Sakhir area.

The race was delayed due to the weather conditions experienced in the country yesterday, and the strong winds added a notable thrill to the race with the high speeds achieved by the cyclists.

The organising committee made a modification to the distance of the second stage, reducing it from 65 kilometres to 50 kilometres. The winners in this stage were honoured by Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Cycling Association, and Abbas Musa, Gulf Air’s representative, and Ahmed Al Hajj of Faalyat.

Ahmed Nasser of Team Victorious claimed both the yellow and gray jerseys for the best time and the highest points in the GCC and National Team category, while Mohammed Al Hammadi from the UAE won the purple jersey for the U23 category, and Vladimir bagged the pink jersey for the over 40 years old category.

Abdullah Ali from the Bahrain Giants team secured the first place in the Bahraini category, with his teammate Hussain Musa finishing second, and Hassan Aqeel Thamer from the Bahrain Amateurs team taking third place.

Adel Barbary of the Dubai Police Team claimed the first place in the Gulf and National Team category, followed by Ahmed Nasser from Team Victorious in second place, and Farooq Mahoud in third place from the Dubai Police team.

Regarding the jerseys for Bahrainis, Abdullah Ali secured the yellow and red jerseys, Hassan Aqeel claimed the blue jersey for the U23 category, and Aqeel Abdul Amir won the jersey for the over 40 category.
