Nuwaidrat rout Sitra in basketball league

Nuwaidrat powered to a high-scoring 127-82 victory over Sitra last night in their week three game of the 2023/2024 Zain Bahrain Basketball League. The victors raced out to a 34-20 lead at the end of the first quarter and then blew the game wide open in the second, where they outscored Sitra by 22 points.

They never looked back from there, going up by as many as a massive 53 points the rest of the way. Lamar Mallory erupted for 42 points and 12 rebounds for Nuwaidrat, while Sameen Swint chipped in with 29 points.

Ammar Mohammed Shabaan added 17, as all 12 players from their team made it onto the scoresheet. For Sitra, who were playing without a foreign professional, Mahdi Abdulameer scored 15 points while Ali Eid added 12.

Nuwaidrat claimed their second win in three games with the result while Sitra suffered a third big loss. League action continues today and tomorrow with two games on the cards each evening.

Tonight, Muharraq face off with Al Najma at 5.30pm while Al Ahli take on Al Ettihad at 7.30pm. To[1]morrow, defending champions Manama face off with Isa Town in the early game, and then Al Hala play Samaheej in the late fixture.
