Goemon, Black Shadow lift GPIC Cups

Goemon and Black Shad- ow lifted the Gulf Petro- chemical Industries Company (GPIC) Cups yesterday at Rashid Winners during an awarding ceremony yesterday Equestrian and Horseracing Club in Sakhir. Goemon triumphed in race six to claim the GPIC Cup for owner Mohammed Khalid Ab- dulrahim and trainer Haider Ebrahim, while saddled by Ger- ald Mosse.
Qaader, representing Alrifga, Fawzi Nass and Alberto San- na was the runner-up in the nine-furlong event, which car- ried a BD4,000 prize, while in third was Zagato, competing forAl Mohamediya Racing, Fawzi Nass and Jason Watson. Black Shadow was the winner of the GPIC Cup in race seven, taking the trophy after seven furlongs and the lion’s share of the BD3,000 prize for M and E Racing, AM Smith and Lee Newman.
Safwa was in second for HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Haider Ebrahim and Ebrahim Nader, while Khazza- ma came third for HH Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Haider Ebrahim and Abdulla Faisal.
Also yesterday, Kinks won the Late Abdulhadi Al Afoo Cup in race eight, held over seven furlongs with a BD3,000 prize. Kinks triumphed for Isa Mahmood Al Seddiqi and Osa- ma Hashim while ridden by Anas Al Siyabi, while Speed Chance followed for Husain Ha- bib Aljaboori, Osama Hashim and Marcialis Jaures. Modmin came third for HBR Racing, Khalid Al Khatri and Ebrahim Nader. Elsewhere yesterday at REHC, Topaz claimed race five for HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chronograph won race four for Al Adiyat Racing, Ibn Arabi won race three for Captain Al Nassr Syndicate, Ghaarah triumphed in race two for Al Bastaki Racing and Obeuan 1867 won race one for Al Wasmiya.
