Anann, Battyeford Boy lift Arabian Horse Equestrian Services Cups

Anann and Battyeford Boy lifted the two Arabian Horse Equestrian Services Cups yesterday at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Sakhir.
Anann won in the eighth and final race of the day, held over a six-furlong straight with a BD3,000 total prize.
It was a fine win for the three-yearold filly, owned by Al Afoo Racing and trained by Mohammed Hasan, while saddled yesterday by Lee Newman.
Turna came second for Zainab Adel Abduljalil, Ramzi Al Baqlawa and Anas Al Siyabi; while Kaasib was third for Al Mohamediya Racing, Ali Abdulmajeed and Jason Watson.
The other Arabian Horse Equestrian Services Cup was claimed in race six, held over eight furlongs with a BD2,000 prize.
Battyeford Boy won for owner Abdulla Al Gaoud, trainer Abdulla Kuwaiti and jockey Abdulrahim Jasim.
The five-year-old gelding finished ahead of Al Mukhtar Star, representing Al Afoo Racing, Jaber Ramadhan and Soufiane Saadi, while Suspect Package took third for Victorious, AM Smith and Franky Vanhonsebrouck.
Race seven was for the Palace Enterprises Cup—a 10-furlong event with a BD3,000 prize, which was claimed by Port Douglas for Ali Jaafar Darwish and Jaffar Darwish, ridden by Marcialis Jaures.
Law of One was the runner-up for Al Afoo Racing, Mohammed Hasan and Soufiane Saadi, while Miss Yvonne took third place for the Mohamediya-Abdulmajeed-Jason Watson triumvirate.
In yesterday’s other events, Battle of Talas won race five for owners Al Adiyat Racing; Boudica took race four, also for Adiyat; Khawafy triumphed for Feras Sami Hashem Al Meshgab in race three; Coiled and Ready clinched race two for Victorious; and Krayan 1840 came away with the race one win for owners Al Roudha.
