Abdullah Ali wins Nasser bin Hamad Amateur Cycling Tour

Bahraini cyclist Abdullah Ali was crowned champion of the 3rd edition of Nasser bin Hamad Amateur Cycling Tour yesterday after being officially awarded the yellow and red jerseys for the best time and highest points.
Mohammed Aqeel was handed the blue jersey for under 23 years old, and cyclist Mohammed Khatim was given the green jersey for over 40 years old in the event organised under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs.
Cyclist Adel Barbary of Dubai Police team achieved the orange and grey jerseys, and was crowned the champion at the GCC and National Team level.
UAE cyclist Mohammed Abdullah Al Hammadi of Al Wathbah team won the purple jersey for under 23 years old, and cyclist Vladimir bagged the pink jersey for over 40 years old.
The fourth and final stage took place yesterday, covering a distance of 80 kilometres.
The winners were honoured in the presence of Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Cycling Federation, Lubna Sulaibeekh of Babco Company, Abbas Hassan of Gulf Air, and Ahmed Al Hajj of Faalyat, who is also the Chariman of the High Organising Committee of the Tour.
Abdullah Ali of Bahrain Giants triumphed in the fourth stage among Bahrainis, while Hassan Aqeel of Bahrain Amateurs came second, and his brother from the same team, Mohammed Aqeel, came third.
At the GCC and National Team level, Moroccan cyclist Said Aboluchi of the Turk team won the fourth stage, while UAE’s cyclist Said Khair of Dubai Police team finished second, and Syrian cyclist Mazen Hussain of Xstream Sport team came third.
In the 10 km disabled race, Nasser Al Marisi achieved first place, Mousa Al Sayegh second, and Mohammed Habeib third.
At the women’s level, Bahraini cyclist Fatima Murad came first in the Bahraini women’s race, Zakia Al Sadah second, and May Al Hajji third.
Chinese cyclist Lin won first place at the race dedicated for GCC National Team and resident women’s cyclists, followed by American cyclist Casey Pittman and British cyclist Emma Baker in second and third respectively.
In the individual race for Bahrainis, Mohammed Mubarak achieved first place, Essa Saleh second and Sayed Ahmed Al Kamal third.
