Defending champions Manama and title contenders Al Hala both claimed big wins last night in the 2023/2024 Zain Bahrain Basketball League.
Manama posted a massive 56-point victory, 119-63, over Isa Town, while Hala triumphed 92-66 against Samaheej.
In Manama’s win, a 28-9 second quarter helped them build a virtually insurmountable lead against their overmatched opponents, who were playing without a professional.
They went on to take leads as big as their final winning margin.
Emran Hasan had 22 points off the bench as Manama’s top scorer, while Mustafa Hussain added 20, including a red hot six three-pointers, and Ali Jaber chipped in 14.
Manama’s imports Travin Thibodeaux and Sir’Dominic Pointer played limited minutes in the game. Nooh Qaedi scored 16 for Isa Town in the losing effort.
With the result, Manama improved to a 3-0 win-loss record while Isa Town dropped their second straight game.
In Hala’s win, they built a comfortable lead in the very first quarter and never looked back.
Their largest advantage in the contest was 29 points, as they made the most of their talent and size, with Samaheej also playing without a professional.
Alex Young had 28 to pace Hala, including 11 rebounds, while Tyrone Nash and Sayed Hashim Habib each finished with 17, with Nash posting an impressive triple-double with 16 rebounds and 11 assists.
Basel Adel had 22 to pace Samaheej in the loss. Hala improved to a 2-1 mark while Samaheej stayed winless in three outings.
Last night’s fixtures wrapped up the third week of action in the 2023/2024 Zain Bahrain Basketball League.
