Ettihad rout Samaheej in basketball league

Al Ettihad powered past Samaheej 112-85 last night as the fourth week of action got underway in the 2023/2024 Zain Bahrain Basketball League. Ettihad raced out to a 35-19 advantage at the end of the first quarter and cruised the rest of the way.
They led by as many as 35 points and made the most of their size and talent advantage, with their opponents playing without a foreign professional.
Nick Faust had 24 points and 13 rebounds in just 22 minutes of action, while Hassan Fahad and Hussain Mohammed added 18 apiece. Mohammed led a bench mob that contributed 53 points in the contest.
For Samaheej, Salman Alkaabi scored 17 and both Ahmed Fateel and Mohammed Abdulla Jaffar finished with 15 points each.
With the result, Ettihad improved to six points from four games with their second win, while Samaheej dropped their fourth contest and went to four points. League action continues tonight and tomorrow.
This evening, Nuwaidrat take on Al Hala at 5.30pm followed by a titanic clash between perennial title-contenders Muharraq and Al Ahli at 7.30pm.
Tomorrow evening, Al Najma face off with Isa Town at 5.30pm.
