HH Shaikh Khalid receives top athletes

Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) president and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) chief His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa received yesterday at Al Wadi Palace a number of the Kingdom’s athletes who have made recent achievements on the international stage.
Also on hand were GSA vice-president HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, BOC vice-president HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, GSA CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar, BOC secretary general Faris Al Kooheji and a number of the heads of Bahrain’s sports federations.
Some of the athletes honoured for their recent achievements at the global, continental, Arab and Gulf levels were from handball, bodybuilding and fitness, boxing, wrestling, weightlifting, swimming, snooker, mixed martial arts, triathlon, strongest man, rugby, badminton and fencing.
