HH Shaikh Khalid chairs BOC assembly

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President, chaired BOC’s General Assembly.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Deputy Chairman of GSA, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and BOC Vice President, BOC board members and heads and representatives of sports federations.
HH Shaikh Khalid commended the sports achievements of Bahrain during the years 2022- 2023, which were the outcome of the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; and His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs.
HH expressed his appreciation for the role of sports federations in those achievements. HH Shaikh Khalid affirmed keenness to further support the sports sector in Bahrain through the work of the BOC in collaboration with sports federations. Faris Al Kooheji, the Secretary General of BOC, thanked HH Shaikh Khalid for his ongoing support.
He also thanked all entities for their cooperation, particularly the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, headed by HH Shaikh Nasser. Al Kooheji thanked the federations for driving success, praising the outstanding performance of athletes who earned Bahrain valuable victories in sporting events. The meeting discussed several items on its agenda, including preparations for the Paris Olympics and upcoming sports events to be hosted in Bahrain.
The BOC General Assembly also endorsed unanimously the Olympic Movement Code on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions, based on the request of the International Olympic Committee. Ishaq Ibrahim Ishaq, from the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation, and Fajer Jassim Hassan Mohammed, from the Bahrain Minifootball Association, were elected unopposed as members of the BOC Board of Directors.
