2 Seas show strong pace in Gulf 12 Hours tests

Bahraini-British motor racing team 2 Seas Motorsport continued their on-track preparations yesterday, showing strong pace ahead of the key sessions in this weekend’s Gulf 12 Hours, currently being held at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
2 Seas’ two competing crews— the trio of Jules Gounon, Maximilan Gotz and Fabian Schiller driving the #14 Mercedes AMG-GT3 in the Pro class, and the #3 triumvirate of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Ian Loggie and Al Faisal Al Zubair competing in the Am category—took turns taking the higher placings in the three open practice tests held yesterday.
In session two, Gounon-GotzSchiller were second on the times with a fastest lap of one minute 53.625 seconds—just 0.587s behind the leaders. HH Shaikh Isa-Loggie-Al Zubair were ranked 21st with a best lap of 1:55.062.
In the third open practice, Gounon-Gotz-Schiller were seventh overall with a quickest time of 1:52.943, with HH Shaikh Isa-Loggie - A l Zubair ranked 15th on a 1:53.869 lap. The final session of the day saw HH Shaikh Isa-Loggie-Al Zubair take the higher ranking in 10th overall with a fastest lap of 1:52.889, the team’s top mark of the day.
Gounon-Gotz-Schiller were 15th with a 1:53.077 time. 2 Seas, co-owned by HH Shaikh Isa, are part of a packed grid of 28 GT3 cars competing in the event. Action continues today at the UAE capital with two free practice sessions, to be followed by qualifying, scheduled for a 5pm start, Bahrain time.
