Ahli outclass Muharraq in volleyball league

Al Ahli posted a convincing straight-sets victory over Muharraq last night in their opening game of the Top Six in the 2023/2024 Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.

Led by the prolific duo of Ali Ebrahim and Nasser Anan, Ahli were in control from the start and went on to make a winning start in this stage with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-22) score line.

Ahli joined defending champions Dar Kulaib and Nabih Saleh as winners from week one in the Top Six. Nabih Saleh enjoyed their own 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-21) triumph against Al Nasser in this first week of competition between the league’s leading clubs.

Action in this phase continues on Sunday next week. Muharraq are back in action as they hope to bounce back against Al Najma, while Dar Kulaib will look to maintain their winning ways against Al Nasser.

Ahli then face Nabih Saleh in Monday’s sole contest. This stage of the league will be held in a double round-robin. The first round continues until the first week of next month, with the second round still to be scheduled by the Bahrain Volleyball Association.
