Ahli outclass Nabih Saleh in volleyball league

Al Ahli posted their second straight victory in the Top Six round last night of the 2023/2024 Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.

Ahli powered to a resounding 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-11) triumph against Nabih Saleh to maintain their unbeaten record in this phase of the competition after two matches.

Yesterday’s result followed their opening win against fellow-title hopefuls Muharraq in their opener. Leading the way for Ahli were top national team stars Ali Ebrahim and Nasser Anan, while also contributing to the win were Sayed Mohammed Abrar, Mohammed Habib and Hassan Shakhouri, among others.

For Nabih Saleh, it was their first loss of this stage after beginning their bid for the Golden Square semi-finals with a win in three sets against Al Nasser. Action in the Top Six continues later this week with the third matchday.

On Saturday, Ahli are back on the playing court when they face Nasser while Muharraq will take on defending champions Dar Kulaib. Then, on Sunday, Nabih Saleh face Al Najma in the evening’s lone fixture. The Top Six of the league is being held in a double round-robin. The first round continues until the first week of next month, with the second round still to be scheduled by the Bahrain Volleyball Association.
