Muharraq power past Bahrain Club in basketball league

Muharraq routed Bahrain Club 97-59 last night to wrap up the seventh week of play in the 2023/2024 Zain Bahrain Basketball League. Muharraq were in control from the opening tip and never wavered.

They raced out to a 22-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and went ahead 45-30 at the break. They stretched their advantage in the third headed into the final canto up 71-41.

In the fourth, they enjoyed their biggest lead of 41 points following a Baqer Isa three-pointer late on right before the final buzzer. American import Tyler Wilkerson led Muharraq with 20 points and 19 rebounds to go along with two blocks.

Mohammed Juma’a also had an impressive double-double, chipping in with 16 and 17 rebounds, while Abdulla Rabea scored 12 in the win. For Bahrain Club, who were playing without a professional, Sayed Mohammed Habib had 17 to pace their team while Husain Al Lulu contributed 14 markers. With the result, Muharraq improved to a 4-2 win-loss record after six games. While Bahrain Club dropped to a 2-4 mark.
