Eight-race card set for today at REHC

Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) hosts an eight-race card today in Sakhir. The Horse Welfare Authority Cup is set to be the feature event.

Taking place as the day’s seventh and penultimate race, it is a five-furlong challenge for imported horses, with a total prize purse of BD4,000. Fifteen runners are entered, representing top local owners such as Victorious, Al Mohamediya Racing, Al Adiyat Racing, Al Afoo Racing and HBR Racing, to name a few.

There will be another Horse Welfare Authority Cup to be won in the eighth race, to be held over 11 furlongs with a BD3,000 prize. Also today are two events for Al Hawaj Cups, including race six over seven furlongs with a BD3,000 prize and in race two over 10 furlongs with a BD2,000 prize; the Ahl Alkhayl Cup in race five with a BD3,000 prize; the Al Ayam Publishing Est BSC Cup in the fourth event offering a BD3,000 prize; and the Ascon Cup in race three with BD3,000 in winnings.

All are welcome to attend today’s events at REHC. Racing is scheduled to begin at 1.30pm, with the final event scheduled to begin at 4.25pm.
