Defending champions Dar Kulaib last night powered to their third straight win in the Top Six round of the 2023/2024 Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.

The title holders were in fine form as they powered past Muharraq 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-21) at Isa bin Rashid Arena at Isa Sports City in Isa Town.

Leading Dar Kulaib in the contest were their top players Mohammed Yaqoob, Mahmoud Abdulwahed, Hassan Alaiwi, Abdulla Mohammed and Ali Habib, to name a few.

They maintained their unbeaten record in three outings in this stage of the competition, following their previous victories against Al Najma and Al Nasser.

Muharraq, on the other hand, tried to rally behind the play of Italian-Argentinian professional Tomas Gallo, Ali Al Sairafi, Majeed Mohammed, Mahmood Al Afia and Sayed Ali Mohammed, but they could not overcome the Dar Kulaib challenge and suffered their second loss in three outings so far in this phase. In another game last night, Al Ahli defeated Nasser 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-19).

Just like Dar Kulaib, Ahli claimed their third straight win and remained unbeaten in this stage, while Nasser were handed their third successive loss. Action in the Top Six continues tonight with Nabih Saleh facing Najma in the evening’s lone fixture.

The Top Six of the league is being held in a double round-robin. The first round continues until the first week of next month, with the second round still to be scheduled by the Bahrain Volleyball Association.
