Total prize money of BD265,000 set for Bahrain football clubs

The Bahrain Football Association (BFA) announced yesterday prize money totalling BD265,000 for the teams in the 2023–2024 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.

The approval of the rewards came in the implementation of the directives of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority president, and Bahrain Olympic Committee chief, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The champions will receive BD75,000, while the runners-up will get BD50,000. The third-placed club will pocket BD30,000, the fourth-placed team BD20,000, BD18,000 for fifth place, and BD16,000 for sixth place.

All teams will come away with prize money at the end of the season. BD14,000 will go to seventh, BD12,000 to eighth, BD10,000 to ninth, BD8,000 for 10th, and BD6,000 apiece for 11th and 12th places. BFA president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa confirmed that the directives of HH Shaikh Khalid come in line with the vision and strategy of SCYS, headed by His Majesty the King’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Shaikh Ali added that it is a clear embodiment and reflection of the great interest and continuous care given by HH Shaikh Khalid to sports federations by supporting their activities and competitions.

Shaikh Ali noted that the financial rewards will help in the technical development of football in the Kingdom and raise the competitive levels in a way that will positively reflect on the national teams and clubs.
