Al Ahli cruise past Isa Town

Al Ahli rolled past struggling Isa Town 112-86 last night to get week 10 underway in the 2023/2024 Zain Bahrain Basketball League.

Ahli raced out to a 32-21 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back, enjoying leads as big as 31 points en route to the final buzzer.

American profession - al Unique McLean scored 33 points for the winners and also took down eight rebounds.

Maitham Jameel, Ahmed Aldurazi and Hesham Sarhan all finished with 17 points apiece.

Jameel and Aldurazi each fired in five three-pointers, with Jameel also registering a double-double with 10 boards. Adrian Uter chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds in just 13 minutes of work.

For overmatched Isa Town, who were playing without a foreign professional, Jehad Ahmed and Hussain Mahdi both had two points in the loss.

Nooh Qaedi added 18. Ahli posted their sixth win in nine tries and improved to 15 points on the league standings, placing them third, just behind defending champions and undefeated leaders Manama and current second-placers Al Najma.

Isa Town, on the other hand, suffered their ninth straight defeat and are still one of just two teams who have yet to taste a win this season. Sitra are the other.

League action continues tonight and tomorrow.

This evening, Muharraq square off with Samaheej at 5.30pm, to be followed by an exciting clash between Al Ettihad and Nuwaidrat. Tomorrow, Manama go up against Najma at 7.30pm.
