REHC hosts eight-race card today

Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) hosts an eight-race card today in Sakhir, with each event offering an Aluminum Bahrain (Alba) Cup.

Action in the 14th meeting of the season gets underway from 1.30pm and all are welcome to attend. The feature of the day is the sixth race, to be held over nine furlongs with a BD4,000 total prize.

There are six contenders set to battle it out for this race’s Alba Cup, three of whom are representing Al Mohamediya Racing. Ahdab and Gulmarg are both trained by Fawzi Nass, with seven-year-old gelding Ahdab to be ridden by Stephane Ladjadj and four-year-old Gulmarg to be saddled by Jason Watson.

Bond’s Boy is the other Mohamediya entry, trained by Osama Hashim and to be ridden by Husain Makki. The others in the field are Graignes owned by Delancey, Burglar of Al Adiyat Racing and Man of Eden of Al Afoo Racing. Four other races are set to feature BD3,000 in prizes. The fourth of the day is over five furlongs, race five will be over 11 furlongs, and the last two over seven furlongs each.

The seventh and penultimate race is a Graded Class One event with 11 runners in the field, while the final race will have 12 contenders. Meanwhile, the first race of the day will be over six furlongs with BD1,500 in prize money. Race two is over 10 furlongs and race three over 12 furlongs, with each offering BD2,000 along with their Alba Cups.
