215 riders participate on opening day of Khalid bin Hamad Endurance Championship

Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the prestigious Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Endurance Championship has commenced.
The championship is organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF).
A total of 215 male and female riders participated in the international and qualifying races held at the Bahrain International Endurance Village.
The races included a 120 km international race, a 100 km international race, a 100 km local race, and qualifying races of 40 km and 80 km.
In the international 120 km race, rider Mohammed Khalid Al Ruwai clinched victory representing Team Victorious with a time of 5 hours, 33 minutes, and 10 seconds.
He was followed by Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, who finished with the same time, and rider Manal Majid Fakhrawi with a time of 5 hours, 33 minutes, and 11 seconds.
In the 100 km international race, rider Isa Hameed Al Anzi secured first place representing Team Victorious too with a time of 4 hours, 35 minutes, and 49 seconds.
He was followed by rider Yusuf Abdelnabi Al Jabouri with a time of 4 hours, 35 minutes, and 50 seconds, and rider Mohammed Abdullah Al Eid, who posted a time of 4 hours, 35 minutes, and 52 seconds.
In the local 100 km race, rider Rashid Khalid Ra’id from KHK stable claimed victory with a time of 5 hours, 45 minutes, and 14 seconds. Khalid Ra’id Abdulrahman from RM stable clocked 5 hours, 45 minutes, and 24 seconds, finishing second, while rider Faisal Hassan Al Nuaimi from Al Ittihad stable came third with a time of 5 hours, 49 minutes, and 47 seconds.
In the local qualifying race of 80 km, rider Zainab Abdulrazzaq Abdullah from Al Shawamikh stable took the lead with a time of 4 hours, 56 minutes, and 10 seconds.
She was followed by rider Dana Hassan Sultani from the same stable with a time of 4 hours, 56 minutes, and 18 seconds, and rider Jassim Khalid Ra’id from the Team Victorious with a time of 5 hours, 2 minutes, and 14 seconds.
In the local 40 km race, rider Talal Rashid Al Dossary from Al Eid stable claimed victory with a time of 2 hours, 30 minutes, and 9 seconds.
His teammate Nayef Adel came second, while Farouq Khalid from Al Salam Equestrian School was third. It’s worth noting that the grand race for the private stables on HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup will take place on Saturday, covering a distance of 120km.
The race is expected to feature wide participation. Meanwhile, the participants will also compete on the Best Horse Condition Award which is sponsored by HH Shaikha Noora bint Hamad Al Khalifa, Captain of Al Fursan Team.
