Shahad Al Ahmad triumphs in Khalid bin Hamad Endurance Race

Shahad Waleed Al Ahmad from Al Ajyal Stable claimed first place in the Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Endurance Race for Private Stables while Rashid Jameel Al Abbad from Al Safanat Stable clinched the second place, and Nasser Hamad Al Qahtani from RM Stable secured third spot.
The event was held in the presence and under the supervision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Honourary President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), and under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).
His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa crowned the winners of the first positions in the race which covered a distance of 120 kilometres and organised by BREEF.
In a gesture of appreciation and gratitude, BREEF expressed its thanks to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his sponsorship and support of endurance races.
The federation acknowledged that this support is highly valued and esteemed by the endurance sports community.
BREEF explained that the success achieved in the championship serves as a significant motivation to continue pursuing goals and making progress in the development of endurance sports, adding that His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Championship holds great importance for stables and riders, as it encompasses a series of international, local, and qualifying races, including the race for young riders.
Moreover, BREEF commended the notable collaboration between stables and riders across various championship committees.
High speeds recorded
Throughout the four stages held at the Bahrain International Endurance Village, high speeds were recorded, with varying rankings during the first three rounds.
However, Shahad Waleed managed to finish first by crossing the finish line in the final stage and successfully passing the veterinary examination with her horse Bejoux, claiming the first position.
Shahad secured the first position after successfully completing all four stages in a time of 4 hours, 41 minutes, and 8 seconds.
Rashid Jameel Al Abbad finished the race with a time of 4 hours, 47 minutes, and 10 seconds, earning the second position.
Meanwhile, Nasser Hamad Al Qahtani completed the race in a time of 4 hours, 52 minutes, and 33 seconds, coming third.
Expressing her immense happiness at clinching the firstplace title in the championship, Shahad said, “This achievement did not come out of nowhere but through the collective efforts of the technical and administrative teams, led by the coach of Al Ajyal Stable.
I am thrilled with this victory, and undoubtedly, it will serve as motivation for us to achieve more accomplishments in future races.” She added, “The race witnessed varying speeds and intense competition among riders, which confirms the remarkable capabilities possessed by stables and riders.
I congratulate our team on this victory and wish them further success and achievements.”
