Bahrain date set on FIBA 3x3 World Tour

Bahrain’s date on the 2024 FIBA 3x3 World Tour is now set following the announcement yesterday of the 15-stop calendar.

Basketball’s international governing body, FIBA, revealed that this year’s campaign will be captivating fans in four continents, showcasing the very best of the urban team sport.

The Kingdom’s event, entitled the Manama Masters, will be held on November 7 and 8 as the 12th round on the world tour.

This year’s competition is the second edition of the prestigious event, following the sensational and hugely successful debut last November.

The new campaign is scheduled to tip off in April in Japan, and events will also be held in France, Mongolia, China, Canada, Switzerland, Hungary, Macau, the UAE and Hong Kong.

The world tour will culminate with the final in December, the host of which has yet to be determined.

The competition marked Bahrain’s first-ever appearance on the FIBA 3x3 World Tour, and took place under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority president and Bahrain Olympic Committee chief His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The FIBA 3x3 World Tour is an international series of men’s 3x3 basketball, with teams representing cities. Aside from 3x3 play, action is also held in a dunk contest and shootout.
