Immortal, Obeyan 1777 win other cups honouring HRH the CP, PM

Immortal and Obeyan 1777 were triumphant yesterday to take the other two cups dedicated to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, both sponsored by Cebarco.
Immortal was the winner in the day’s eighth and final race, held for local breeds over 10 furlongs with US$40,000 in total winnings.
Immortal triumphed for owner Mohammed Khalid Abdulrahim, trainer Haider Ebrahim and jockey Alberto Sanna.
Midhaal came second for Al Nuwayef Racing, Abdulla Kuwaiti and Abdulraim Jasim; while Taaris was third for Abdulla Fawzi Nass, Fawzi Nass and Husain Makki.
Meanwhile, Obeyan 1777 claimed the win in the day’s first race, a WAHO event held over seven furlongs with US$14,000 in prize money. Competing for owners Al Khaldiya and trainer Fawzi Nass, the seven-year-old was ridden by jockey Stephane Ladjadj.
Kuheilat Al Adiyat 1782 came second for Victorious, Yousif Taher and Soufiane Saadi, while in third was Kuheilan Weld Umm Zorayr 1797, racing for Al Khaldiya, Fawzi Nass and Neil Callan.
Also yesterday, Hercules showed its might by winning the Bahrain Derby in the day’s seventh and penultimate race, held over 10 furlongs with US$32,500 in total winnings.
The four-yearold gelding, owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass and trained by Fawzi Nass, was ridden by Stephane Ladjadj. Haddar came second for Al Mohamediya Racing, Fawzi Nass and Neil Callan; while Scorpius made it a second Abdulla Fawzi Nass-Fawzi Nass horse in the event’s top three, ridden by Husain Makki.
Galatia lifted the Bahrain Oaks, sponsored by Al Muzdaher Stud, trophy in race three, held for local breeds over nine furlongs with a US$20,500 total prize.
The four-year-old filly triumphed for owner HH Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa and trainer Haider Ebrahim while saddled by Alberto Sanna. Echo Through Time was second for Al Adiyat Racing, AM Smith and Gerald Mosse; while Carina was third for Fateel Brothers Syndicate, Basem Mahdi and Marcialis Jaures.
Elsewhere, Panning for Gold clinched The Howden Cup in race two, held over 12 furlongs for imported horses with US$14,000 in prize money. The four-year-old gelding took first place for Al Mohamediya Racing, Fawzi Nass and Neil Callan.
Young Ireland was the runner-up for Al Afoo Racing, Jaber Ramadhan and Soufiane Saadi; while in third was Illuminated, competing for Mohammed Khalid Abdulrahim, Haider Ebrahim and Alberto Sanna.
