Aravind Binoj Kizhuppillil of India led four qualifiers into the main draw of the Bahrain International Tennis Federation (ITF) Juniors Championship 2024, currently being held at the Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) courts in Isa Town.

Aravind lived up to his tag as the top seed in the qualification draw and was joined in booking their places in the tournament proper by second seed Petter Christopher Berg Hagen of Norway, fifth seed Jorge Batarse of Mexico and eight seed Klas Gorensek of Slovenia.

Action in the singles main draws for both boys and girls begins today at the BTF. Matches are scheduled to be played from 9am. All are welcome to attend.

Aravind secured his place after defeating Kuwait’s Mohammad Alawadhi 7-5, 6-2. Petter also beat a Kuwaiti opponent in seventh seed Adulrahman Al Abdullah 6-4, 6-2; while Jorge was a 7-6 (4), 6-2 winner against Noe Boulnoix of Switzerland. Klas completed the list of boys’ qualifiers after defeating Filip Malis of Canada 6-0, 6-4.

This competition is a J30 event, which is part of this year’s ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors Calendar. It continues until Saturday later this weekend, and it also features doubles play for both boys and girls.

The J30 event will be followed by another of its kind between February 26 and March 2, forming an impressive backto-back of ITF juniors events in the Kingdom.
