China add second cadets gold in Asian fencing

China, Chinese Taipei, and South Korea all came away with gold medals yesterday in the Asian Juniors and Cadets Fencing Championships 2024, being hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain at Isa Sports City in Riffa.

All three golds were claimed in cadets competitions, with China winning the team women’s foil, Chinese Taipei taking the team men’s epee, and South Korea emerging triumphant in the team men’s saber.

China’s victorious squad yesterday included Xu Ziyi, Zhang Siqi, Zhu Xinge and Zhuang Xinyi.

The South Koreans claimed the team women’s foil silver medals, while Japan and Singapore shared the bronze. In the team men’s epee, Chinese Taipei were composed of Hsin-An Chen, Jhih Ruei Chen, Rang Lee and Jhe Cyun Lin. South Korea were the silver-medallists, while China and Japan were joint-bronze medal winners.

In the team men’s saber, the triumphant South Koreans included Minhyung Choi, Doyeon Kim, Chanseo Lee, and Sungmin Lim.

Uzbekistan claimed the silver medals while Hong Kong, China and China were bronze-medallists.

Following yesterday’s action, Uzbekistan top the medal table with two gold medals, one silver and one bronze.

China follow with two gold and four bronze, while Chinese Taipei are third with two gold medals.

South Korea are fourth with a gold, four silver and two bronze; Hong Kong, China fifth on a gold and three bronze medals, and the UAE sixth on one gold medal.
