The girls’ and boys’ singles finals were set yesterday in the second Bahrain International Tennis Federation (ITF) Juniors Championship 2024, being played at the Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) courts in Isa Town.

Fifth seed Haniya Aman Minhas of Pakistan will take on Alisa Grinkevich in the girls’ title contest, while top seed Eyad Reda Ezzat Mohamed Sherif of Egypt will square off with seventh seed Ramazan Kaan Okay for the boys’ crown.

Haniya secured her spot in the decider after upsetting second seed Yelena Lebeau of France 6-1, 6-4; while Alisa stunned sixth seed Luisa Fusil of Slovenia 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.

On the distaff, Sherif defeated Kirill Kalennik 7-5, 6-2 while Oktay was a 6-2, 7-5 winner against sixth seed Dev Kanbargimath of Romania.

Oktay will be aiming for his second straight ITF singles title in Bahrain, having won the previous event in the Kingdom held last month.

Both finals are scheduled to be held today on the concluding day of the tournament.

The championship is a part of this year’s ITF World Juniors Tennis Tour Calendar.

It is a J30 event, signifying the number of ranking points that will be claimed by the singles winners.
