Al Ahli take semi-final series lead

Al Ahli drew first blood in their semi-final series against Al Najma in the 2023/2024 Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.

Ahli took game one of their best-of-three head-to-head with a 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 23- 25, 25-22) score line at Isa bin Rashid Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.

The victors are now one step away from advancing to the championship round, where defending champions Dar Kulaib await.

Ahli will be looking to close out their series with Najma when the pair meet again in game two tomorrow at 6.30pm.

Najma will be hoping to extend their match-up to a decisive third game, which would be held on Thursday next week, if needed.

Dar Kulaib have already booked their spot after defeating Muharraq, also in four sets, in their one-off semi-final contest, in which they held a twice-to-beat advantage having been number one seeds in the league’s Top Six stage.

The finals will also be played in a best-of-three format. Game one is scheduled for March 17, after which game two will be held on March 20.

March 23 will be the third and clinching game, if needed. Also set to be played will be a match for third place on March 18.
