HH Shaikh Isa chairs REHC High Committee meeting

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund, and Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) High Committee, chaired a meeting of the committee yesterday.

HH Shaikh Isa highlighted the importance of further strengthening the competitiveness of Bahrain’s horseracing sector, in line with the Kingdom's comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

HH Shaikh Isa recognised the Kingdom’s position as a destination for regional and international horseracing events and noted the importance of advancing the sector's infrastructure and facilities, which the REHC is committed to through strong governance, wide-ranging development plans, and dynamic strategies.

His Highness welcomed the committee's new members, wishing them success in their duties. HH Shaikh Isa also reviewed the organisational preparations for today's His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Cup. HH Shaikh Isa expressed his best wishes to the jockeys, trainers and owners of stables, who will be participating in the competition.

Topics on the agenda were discussed during the meeting, including the final report for the 2023/2024 horseracing season, the season's accomplishments, and the latest developments within the project of the general master plan for the REHC. The proposed regulations, plans, and programmes to develop the horseracing track to meet the future needs of regional and international competitions were also discussed.
